I find very annoying when I see posts stating that Mac is better than PC and vice versa. I use both MAC and PC for editing DVD authoring and all other related creation work. I have found that Macs do certain jobs outstandingly whilst do others poorly, same with PC. So to all thos people who rabidly defend their choice of platform don't be so narrowminded and believe that the platform they are using is God.
My two cents.

What an utterly pointless thread this one will no doubt be.

i prefer PC. i find it easier to recover something if something happens to screw up, and it's easier to customize. I use Vegas Video 5.0 as my NLE, and I'm fairly sure that isn't made for Mac. I also find rendering speeds much faster. I honestly can't say I even like Mac, but if worse came to worse, it'd get the job done, and therefore I don't rule it out.

Actually I find the topic interesting. Can you be more specific about which tasks each platform excels at, and which ones each lags behind the other?

Jeeze.......... how many of these will there be?!?!
Honestly people, use what you like the best. If thats Mac then great! If thats PC then great! Each has its benefits and its advantages, but doesn't everything in life? -

I had an iMac see through blue indago DV 450 about 3 years ago didn't like it here's why:
1. Couldn't upgrade it only add ram
2. Not much Software for it
3. I found Windows easeir to use
4. speakers where shitty
5. Expensive
I thought it looked cool and took up less space but I will stick with windows and custom built PC's from now on I sold it alont time ago. -

Those models are designed for entry level / base level computer users. Ones who wouldnt update anything more than ram, ones who wouldnt really use the speakers to watch movies/game with etc etc
any true serious mac user would agree to get the upgradability etc etc the towers are the only way to go.
