  1. i recently downloaded a movei and its apparently a microsoft video so im unable to play it on windows media player etc.none of the encoders will accept it either so what the hell do i do?

  3. it says its not a valid avi file it says the type is unknown.everything else just says n/a

    It's probably not a valid file , delete it and forget it.

    It could also be either heavily corrupted or it only has an avi extention and it is really a different type of file.

    You could try a last ditch effort and just change the extention to things such as .mpg, .rm, and the like. I doubt it would work, but you may get lucky.
