    I need to backup a data dvd, and just realisid I have no idea how to do it.
    yes its protected.
    Paid alot of money for this and i'm not letting the kids scratch it to death, hence the copy. before we get any comments like - ooh! ooh!, thats not allowed

    EDIT: you did say "DATA" DVD. I would think Decrypter ISO read/write should do it.

    A data DVD with copy protection?

    Do you know what copy protection? I wonder if ClonyXXL works with DVDs...

    If the disc is protected I would use Alcohol 120%.

  12. Sage advice from Doramius there.

    Alcohol 120% should at least be able to copy it, or create a virtual drive where the PC mounts an image of the DVD as a disc and runs off that.

    What I can't understand is why they don't make a copier that does it bit-for-bit. How can you go wrong?

    I'm just waiting for when movies come out on one of those flash or thumb drives. Pop one in and you're on your way. Copy a movie in mere a few minutes.
