You should use a macro free vhs player.
There is more than one type of macrovision, so maybe your box doesn't do anything about the new ones? -
There really is no a "Macro-free" VHS player as that signal is actually recorded on the tape. If you bought a box to remove or mask Macrovision, then your problem is the second form of copy protection found on most DVDs called CGMS/a. This type was specifically designed to prevent copying from a DVD player to a DVD recorder.
The only device that I have seen actually work on both of these types of copy protections is the one found here...
http://www.facetvideo.com
I don't have one myself, but have two friends who do that use them with their Panasonic recorders. The Facet Video unit can definitely mask both Macrovision and CGMS/a.
I have the LiteOn LVW-5001 DVD recorder that has the ability to ignore copy protections from other sources. The 5001 and their newer 5005 are the only DVD recorders I have seen that can be hacked in this manner. -
i have been to facetvideo site , and this is the same one and place i ordered my video clarifier and as i said i have made sure everything is hooked up correctly , (many times) and have actually written to the tech people their and their reply was :that the apex and cyberhome probably require a firmware update to copy from vhs . but the problem with this is i can copy (non protected macrovision vhs tapes such as our wedding tape which i have done ) unless their is some firmware updates you have to get to be able to be able to copy macrovision proted tapes , i sure hope someone can help me on this . does anyone else have the facetvideo co. video clarifier and are you having the same problem ?? so far the video clarifier is" NOT "working correctly to take out the copy gaurd when pluged inbetween the vhs player and the cyberhome dvdr . IF ANYONE CAN FIGURE THIS ONE OUT PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS SOOBN AS POSSIBLE . thanks,
LONNIE
