ok here's the deal.... my puter is actin real funky now. its froze on me 3 times today. the wireless is off and on.

i want to point the finger towards the power supply(250w steady state or so compaq says)

i just added an extra fan last night. added a vid card 2 weeks ago(128mb but with heatsink) all the pci slots are filled, wireless d-link g card, sound card, lan card(yeah i know only 3 pci slots). 2 drives(dvd rom, dvdr) and floppy.

im really not sure what a puter does when theres not enough power. shut down? freeze?

and im not sure how much power that wireless card is using. could lack of power cause wireless connection probs?

and if it is the supply, what is cheap enough to get by to make things work right? 350w? 430w?

  3. Sounds like a weak power supply to me.

Which video card did you add? Newer video cards for gaming eat a lot of power
