  2. You can use VCDEasy and such packages to create decent photo slideshows with background music. Here are the different guides:

https://www.videohelp.com/author#3;9 - VCD/SVCD slideshow (VCDEasy is the last one on the list, recommended)

https://www.videohelp.com/author#3;52 - How to make a DVD slideshow

I'm afraid I can't help with the Nero problem, though. Does Nero even support the addition of background music? Just wondering if it's a software limitation, or an error with the audio file itself.

Hope those guides get you going, albeit on a different route!

  3. If the pictures is MPEG-Stills, then it wont be possible to have background music. You'll have to make a VCD/SVCD slideshow instead. But then the resolution will be much lower than on a MPEG-Still.

I'm not sure if Nero creates real MPEG-Stills or not, but in general you can't have MPEG-stills and background music.

There's possible to have sound for each MPEG-Stillls, but it's not in the VCD standard and then on most DVD-players the picture won't be visible when the sound is played.

Personally I would recommend you to test Slide Show Movie Maker which is freeware, or MemoriesOnTV. There are others progran also for making slideshows of pictures with music and tranistions.

Success,I managed to create a vcd slideshow with music using a trial of Pro Show Gold and a trial of No1 CD Ripper,I found out how to convert tracks on a cd to mp3 in the help section of PS Gold.I found out about these 2 progs in these forums.Never done this sort of thing before,so I am absoluteley thrilled by the results. These slideshows can also be done in Nero 6.3(with music).I think the PS Gold results are better than Nero, but will look at other progs recommended here.
    Cheers
    Mick(ps.thanks for replies).
