Ok I have a question. How would a pal dvd play on an ntsc player? Will the picture look pretty much the same as an ntsc dvd? Or would the picture be streched or distorted b/c pal tvs have different aspect ratios and resolutions?

I've played NTSC on PAL TV's and the picture was reasonable, but in black and white, so maybe it would be the same.

  3. As with tweedledee, I have played back NTSC on my PAL TV, but my TV supports NTSC so I got full colour. It plays back perfectly - there is no reason for any distortion if the TV supports NTSC or the DVD player can convert on-the-fly.

The best thing you can do is to write whatever it is you're working with to a DVD+/-RW and see what happens.

yeah i guess ill give it a go. I was hoping to get a quick answer so I could perhaps not waste my time incase it wont work. But come to think of it, I have played PAL video games on an NTSC TV and they worked just fine.

  5. If a PAL game plays OK then I'm sure video will too.

And anyway, wasting time is fun when the end result allows you to gain knowledge. Even if that knowledge is "Don't bother"!

Hope it works out for you,

Hey Cobra Last time I was in Bath I couldn't find a place to park.
I'm not joking, I had to drive out of town to get out of the car for a stretch.
    I can't imagine living there.

  7. You can park in the multi-storey car park above Waitrose (best bet, just by the high street too), or in the car park by the bus station. You're right though, parking in Bath is a complete

The best thing you can do is get the park & ride by parking in the university - there is free parking at the weekends.

I don't own a car, so it's a lot easier for me. I catch the 18 or 418 from university to town - it's £1.15 for a return and they go every 10 minutes during the week. It's not bad at all.

Anyway, Bath is a good place to live.
