  1. I'm having trouble with my Epson 900. I'm using the software it came with and i can't seem to get a perfectly alligned print when i'm printing something edge to edge. it either spills over or doesn't completely cover the white. does anyone have any tips, different software to use, or simply the best settings to use. i"m using Quality Ink Jet/ Best Photo, and it seems to be ok. the software i'm using is Discus EP 2.72 for OS 10.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi,

What brand of media are you using? Ritek, Prodisc, etc. My settings vary with the type of media I'm using.

I'll try to write down some of my settings and post them. I'm using a mac as well

  4. i'm using generic discs. i'm not sure what the brand is. i've measured many times, but cannot quite get it. i guess i'm just looking for a sure fire way to get the same consistent results each time. thanks jerry.

  5. I'm using the Discus program that came with my printer. It's the only program I know of for the mac. I've had great luck with it though.

You should get exactly the same results each time. My printing goes to the exact place on the inside and outside of the disc each time.

  6. i just tried some of these setting and offsets, and i think i've got a little better with the diameter, but the offset is still far from perfect. oh the inside circle, there is a little bit of white on the bottom right side. how do i get that circle to be tighter?

    thanks

  7. It sounds like the X & Y settings need to be adjusted. One of these settings moves the printing on the disc up & down and the other left and right.

Experiment with these but be sure and write all your settings down.

  8. A little tip for setting up printing to disk rather than waste printable disks use one of the clear protecter disks that you get at the top and bottom of spindles. Just put 2 circles about 2 m/m on it one just inside outside dia and the other just outside inner ring. You can then place this over your printable disk to check alignment. Can be done many times as you just wipe the ink off. Saves loads of ink and diks....
I also find when you load the tray that you need to push the knob (right hand side as you look at the back of printer) against the tray, where the tray is loaded at the back to ensure the tray is hard against the side of the printer or disks can be miss printed.

  9. Print Settings-
Very helpful posts on what alignment to use for different media.

    What about Ink Settings?
I have a mac and run the Epson. I use the CD/DVD setting on Ritek White Inkjet and Pro Disc Silver Inkjet. When I print on the White, my printouts look dull. When I print on the Silver they look a little blurry.

I've seen some scans from people posted and theirs are much better.

I've seen some posts that say you use Quality Inkjet Best Photo setting.
(Will it work? My guide from Epson says to only use CD/DVD setting or banding may appear).

Any help provided would be great.

  10. I use the

Color Life Photo Paper setting, then under the Advanced button I choose the Photo RPM settng.

To me they come out better than the DVD setting but they also may be a little damp because more ink.

    .
I use the Riteks and have found that the CD/DVD then -2 to +1 (depending on what use its for) setting is the best one to use, some do look a bit washed out but think that is more to do with source pic than printer or disk as some look real bright and sharp. Blues and greens seem to be a couple of the colours that appear to be bright and sharp.
I did used to use on of the higher settings like photo paper but had issues with ink not drying properly.
Havent use the silver ones but if the same pic looks OK on a white disk then i would guess at too much ink causing the blurry pic.
