  1. hey guys,

I was planning on buying a new powerbook 12''. I was told that I should think about buying a 15'', because of possible harware issues. But I really like the compact look and feel of the 12''. I was wondering if there was anyone here that has a 12'' and had any if at all problems with it. And is the 80 GBs (instead of 60 GBs) worth it? Thank guys

phew, this one almost slipped into the pages of no return [2+]

I have a powerbook 12". mine is the 1ghz model which was the top of the line until a few weeks ago when the 1.33 ghz models came out

I was told that I should think about buying a 15'', because of possible harware issues.
Really, what sort of issues. I have had mine for almost 6 months now and have not had any problems. Thing to keep in mind is its confusing to just say 12" powerbook. There are three revisions, rightly termed Revision A, B and C. Revision A was the first 12" powerbook series maxing out at 867mhz. As you can see its the oldest and had some hardware issues [getting extremely hot during intense graphic use [mostly games] so much so that some people noted warping of the airport antenna that wraps the screen and case. Revision B [up to 1.0ghz] corrected a lot of that and is very solid as far as hardware. Revison C is out and from what i can tell there is no difference hardware wise other than faster processor 1.33ghz and faster dvd superdrive if you get it.

But I really like the compact look and feel of the 12''. I was wondering if there was anyone here that has a 12'' and had any if at all problems with it.
I love mine, its just the right size for carrying to classes every day and using for notes. I get 4.2 horus on a full charge and have had absolutely no problems. Again if you got Revision C it would be the same sort of thing
And is the 80 GBs (instead of 60 GBs) worth it? Thank guys
Thats up to you. I have the 60 because I also have a G4 tower that has 400+ gigs so anything i need to do that requires large amount of space i do on that. 60 is plenty for most practical things, but if you are going to be doing anything video related, editing etc go with 80 or larger.

Still got questions, let me know

also one thing you might find helpful is
Apple.com 12" Powerbook Discussion which has lots of powerbook owners discussing things.
