I sat through the last episode of Angel earlier tonight. What a shame that it's now gone. I'm not exactly what you would call a die-hard Buffy/Angel fan but I'm really going to miss this show. I stopped watching during the third and fourth season because I had a lot going on my life but I started watching again at the begining of this season. What a great show it became. The writing has become so much better than just about anything else on TV.

To make matters worse, the show wasn't cancelled because of low ratings. It has consistently been one of the network's top performers. I have read that they will instead be focusing their efforts on an update of the old Dark Shadows serial from the late 60's. The real icing on the cake tonight was after the final credits rolled, a little promo came on that was supposed to commemorate Angel's five year run and it ended with the words: "Thanks, from your friends at The WB".

**** you, WB. **** you up your stupid asses!

If you like Angel and Buffy, have you seen Joss Whedons other masterpice? "Firefly"? they made about 14 episodes and it ran on fox in late 2002, then was cancelled due to low viewership. bah humbug. it was one of the best shows on tv. theres a movie version of it coming out next year however called Serenity. you shoudl all check out the show and the movie.

I barely learned of Firefly this year. I watched zero tv for a good two years before this season. I'll have to check the DVD set out someday. I heard the movie is gong to be called Serenity.

An excellent writer once said (paraphrase) "... a good story must have a beginning, a middle, and an end..."

Things should never continue past their stories. Then you end up with average predictable plots, that drag on simply for the cause of making money. Welcome to the mediocrity of america.

If you enjoyed Angel, then you should really get all the Buffy disks.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

I'm pretty content with watching Buffy on FX. I'm caught up now so I can't really see myself picking up the DVD's. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Reminded me of a joke Conan did in his monologue(sp?) recently...(I'm going to paraphrase)

"WB announced today that theyre going to be different that other stations and will stop doing the famous studio audience pilots where they have a studio audience decide if the show should go on the air or not. Yeah, yeah...instead they're going to stick with their already very popular system of throwing crap on a wall and seeing what sticks"

  9. All the network's now suck. There one or two good show on a netowrk but that's about it. For me I like SCIFI for Startgate. IF that show die's there nothing to that channel for me. FOX suck's also and UPN suck's NBC ABC and CBS.

Good new's I do not know any thing about Angel but WB does not own the right to it. I think FOX own's the right's to the show so they can put it on FOX or UPN. Or just sell the right to make new show to SCIFI. It's kind of funny the network's make TV show's for other network's.

NBC family comemdy 5 to 18 TV show that the familycan watch same goes for ABC

CBS old people 35 to 60

    FOX 20 to 35

    UPN 15 to 25

    WB 15 to 25

These age group's are for the most part but not every show on the network but almost ever network.

The real reason they do not want ANGEL any more is money. Why play a show that the WB does not own the right's to? WB is better of making a new show that they own the right's to and keepping all the money.

Look at Cartoonnetowrk almost ever show they play they own the right to true there are some show's they do not own the right to but they can not come up with every good idea there is. That's how other show get on there network.

There were talks of moving it to UPN but they passed. Besides, I think the show's co-creator(Joss Whedon) wants to concentrate on the Firefly movie. I'm sure the cancellation works to his advantage.
