My Geforce 4 Ti4200 died so I picked up a Geforce FX 5900XT OC 128MB.
I installed it with no problem, however to test the card I downloaded all the Nvidia Tech demos that were made for the card and they run like crap! Something like 20fps if that. What could the problem be? Seems like my old Ti4200 was faster?
Thanks

Download the latest driver. Find DriveCleaner (free utility) via Google and remove all aspects for the NVidia driver. Then re-install the latest driver. Also -- make sure you are running DirectX 9.0B. The 5900 is a DX9 card as are the demos. The 4200 is a DX8 card.

I do not know what demos you are talking about (I have an ATI), but are you sure that 20fps is not a good score in them? Many demos are intentionally extremely difficult to run and that is by design. That way the same demos can be used for years before becoming obsolete.
