I've heard so many conflicting opinions,I don't know what to believe.
Is there any reason why one is better than the other for making Videos ?
Originally I was told that -R is better than +R.
Is that garbage?
Is it simply a compatability issue with some older standalones not playing +r?
or
Is there more to it?

Find some media that suits you and stick with it. Asking which is better is only going to lead to a heated debate, simply because there is no universal answer. -R suits some and not others, as does +R.
I use both, so I'm technically neutral!

I use both media but mainly DVD-R's. All 3 of my players will play the + or - but have noticed an ocasional pause on one of players using the + media. A couple friends at work has problems playing + media but not -, so it appears to me the - media would be the prefered media to use. I do use Verbatim brand DVD's and CDR's and have done so for a long time with very good results.
