  1. "Read error occurred at address xxxxxxx (different each time) of module P3Package.dll with xxxxxxxxx"

Does this in random places when trying to convert DV avi to DVD MPEG-2.
Tried messing about with the 'priorities' in environmental options tab, to no avail. Tried reinstalling P3package.dll, tried defragging disk, moving file read and write locations.... any other ideas?? This is the first time this problem has occurred with me... checked for bad frames in virtualdub with no result....

  4. Hello there,

I'm suffering exactly this error, ever about 4% of process, but not in the exactly same point of DV. I tried to capture again DV movie (from VHS) but problem still remains.

Perhaps could be interesting to compare our two systems in order to know it differences or similities:

    My system:

-AMD Athlon XP 2800+ (the problem remains with or without 3dnow! enablement on TMPGENC)
    -ASUS A7v600-x Mainboard
-I've windows XP pro updated to April 2004. The directx version is 9b.
(I Think directx could be the culprit. Wich is your version.).
    -TMPGEnc-2.521.58.169-Plus

    My next actions:
1.- Reinstall Tmpgenc in another directory (If not: VFAPI settings are inherited from the preious installation)
    2.- Reinstall directx 9b
3.- Try to install a directx previous version.

    I'll update with news.
    Regards.

  5. CCE Basic is the way to go for DV. Anyway, even CCE can get problems with big DV files, last time i had a 9GB DV file, i split it to 2GB chunks with virtualdub, then loaded the first file, and then added the rest in "input files" -> "settings..", and it encode to a single MPEG file. Maybe splitting with virtualdub can help for tmpgenc too (in vdub, click File -> Save segmented AVI)

  6. Hello Again,

Fist of all, thanks for your help. I've tested the following actions but still having the problem:

1.- Reinstall Tmpgenc in another directory (I let VFAPI settings without changes). => same error.
2.- Split DV avi in 2gb chunks. (I needed to install "Panasonic DV codec" in order to Virtualdub could open the original AVI and split into chunks). Tmpgenc gets the same error in several portions.
2.- Reinstall directx 9b: Problem still remains.

I',m still beliving that directx 9b was the culprit, then I will try to install older version, but I don't know if it could be possible.

    Regads.
