Is it possible to use a pc with spdif input on sound card to take a dts signal from a standalone dvdplayer to output via the pc's 5.1 speakers?
i know the correct way is dvdplayer via spdif out connected to spdif in of a amplifier/receiver that can decode dts and the speakers are connected to the amplifier/receiver.
Basically i want video from my standalone but use my pc with its connected 5.1speakers to output the sound. I don't have a amplifier/receiver so if there is away to integrate my pc for surround sound it would be cool.
I guess some ppl would just say use your pc with windvd installed and take the pic from a svideo of a tv-out video card but i want to use my standalone to deliver the video:P cuz it has component output.
Is this possible? my echo mia sound card has spdif in and the onboard realtek sound card is the 5.1 speaker output.
I couldn't find that windvd will take a dts stream from a soundcards spdif input and decode it to the soundcard's analog speaker outputs. It only allows dts stream output via the soundcard's spdif out correct?
is there a program that will take a dts signal via a soundcard's spdif in and decode the signal and output thru the card's 5.1 analog speaker connections?
Thanks all did this make any sense?:P
