I cannot access http://www.tmpgenc.com the last few days. Is the site down, or do I have a problem?

Maybe your DNS server is screwed up. Try going to it by IP address:

    http://210.230.87.15

    What is a DNS server?

I have reinstalled my browser, and it still doesn't work. I have never had this problem before.

call your ISP and find out and get the DNS numbers from them, they can also tell you where to put them.

if you are looking to download the new version try this:

    PROGRAM:
    http://www.tmpgenc.com/files/TMPGEnc-2.01.30.116.zip

    VFAPI:
    http://www.tmpgenc.com/files/TMPGEnc-2.01.30.116-vfp.zip

it might work with a direct link to the file.

DNS = Domain Name System ( or Service )
DNS is an internet system that translates domain names into IP addresses. As domain names are far easier for us to remember and deal with than the numerical IP address for each computer on the internet.
As the internet is actually made up of IP addresses, every time you use a domain name it must be translated into its corresponding numerical address.
    Eg. http://www.tmpgenc.com = 210.230.87.15
The DNS system is a network in its own right, if one particular DNS server cant translate the domain name then it passes it on to another until the correct IP address is found.... unless you are called xzarkad.... then it doesnt seem to work right .
    Try going via a proxy.

The problem may lie with your ISP - Do you find that other sites are also unreachable?

    ISP= Internet Service Provider

or if you are using dial-up Inconsistent Service Provider.

actually the first definition is the correct one whether you are dial-up or not.

basically when you said you were going to call your provider, that would be your ISP.
