At its best, VCD looks comparable to VHS.

It depends on the quality of your you movie. If its a dvd rip i should look great. Or if its a downloaded divx with high res it should still look good. Downloaded divx movies lose a little quality evey time they get downloaded. So if you have a dvd rom dvd rips are the way to go.

If it means anything... I never noticed how much VHS sucks until I started to do this. Comparing shows I taped vs TV never made a difference to me, but noticing shows I captured vs shows I taped then captured is a big difference.

Thanks for the quick response! Actually, I was refering to the size of picture I would have on my TV if it was encoded at 352x288. Is it going to be full screen on my TV or pretty small?

All VCD/SVCD is played at full screen irregardless of the resolution.
