    When i try viewing what i recorded on mt sony dcr-trv19 it steches the video out instead of showing the black bars. Some1 please help.

  2. dude, learn to phrase your questions a little clearer. its not even a matter of spelling..

    check the setting on your dvd player. is it set to 16:9 or 4:3?

    That wouldnt matter would it? BEcause when i rent dvds in Widescreen, thay are fine, and when i watch dvds on fullscrean there fine... im stumpted

    It looks like somewhere along the line, it got converted to 4:3 AR.

    When you shoot in 16:9, you have to edit with NLE settings at 16:9, then you have to encode with 16:9. Any deviation would effect the outcome. The 16:9 footage I shot with my Camcorder display the black lines on top and bottom.

    If you shoot in 16:9, the avi created when capturing should also be 16:9. If it isn't, then your not shooting 16:9 or you don't have the correct capture settings.
    Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........
