I saw that the new verbatim 8x seem to be the only DVD+R printables that are hub printable. Anyone used any of these? how do the prints look and how do they burn? anyone know who actually manufactures them? And also, i think the most important thing, is how far in can you actually print? What do you set the inner diamater setting to on your epson r200 print setting? thanks for any help. These puppies are a bit expensive and wondering if it's worth $2 a disc

  2. Chances are good it's MCC, which is very good, 1st class media....

Or, for about the same price as that 50ct spindle, you can buy an 8x dual format burner from Newegg....then you'll have some cheaper printable-media options.

Well i went ahead and ordered a 50 pack. I got them today, and here are my impressions:

-Mine were made in singapore, and are MCC, So That is real good
-Can print real far in, so that the inner diam. is 21cm
-Can actually print farther out then any printable I've seen, right to the very edge of the disc, appx so that the outer diam is set at 119-120cm
-Their is a dark ring where the hub usually is due to the fact that it is covering a spot that is clear (the clear ring). It goes away when printed with medium to dark ink. If you leave the center unprinted, u will notice the dark ring.

Overall, very satisfied. Burnt at 8x on my nec 2500a with no problems (well i haven't watched them yet, but no burning problems)
Let me know if u guys have any other questions.

  6. also got mine today burned x8 using nec 2500a watched and no problems however these are mcc but as far as printing i see no differance between printing to inner and outer diameter as compared to the prodisc print to the hub dvd both look the same to me in quality just one is verbatim mcc and the other prodisc s03.. of course i would take verbatim over prodisc anyd day strictly because of the reputation and not to mention burn x8

i have a liteon 411@811 firmware HSOP and liteon 451@851 firmware GSOC the first batch of Verbatims would burn at 8x on the 411@811 no problem, the second batch will only burn at 6x or lower full disc without becoming a coaster.on the other hand they only burn at 4x on the 451@851 firmware GSOC without becoming coasters, but if i change to firmware GSOF they burn at 8x no problem, but then all my 4x -R maxells turn into coasters.the media code is MCC-003-00.go figure

  9. I agree i bought a liteon 411 cause it was faster then my nec 1300 at the time but what good is speed if it produces constant coasters, made me appreciate the slow steady nec and now i have a nec 2500a
