Considering DRU-700 is out there, where can one buy media ?

It is a very new format, I only read about this today !!!!, may take a few weeks for it to filter through to the retailers.

You might not find it just yet - i think the burner won't be on the market for a few weeks - they just announced it recentley...

The Verbatim media just got approved by Philips so you can expect the full production will not get up to speed for a few weeks. Anyway, not sure you want to pay $12.00 a pop for this media. I would wait until the compatibility results are known and the price goes down. You would not want to waste $12.00 and it not be readable in your DVD player or DVD-Rom drive.

This will certainly have a dampening effect on DVD back ups. Why pay $12 for a dubious quality backup when a second original is around $10 or even less through Columbia House?
Still a few bugs in the system...
