  1. I have followed the guide to author a dvd from avi for tmpgenc dvd. Everything works great until I click on the "begin output" button. When I do this, tmpgenc creates a file where I have designated the output goto, and even gives me a video and audio TS folder but then the program just shuts down. The folders are empty and that is as far as I get.....any help????

Also, anyone know why I can't play any ac3 files I create from AC3 Machine or from BeSweet? I authored a dvd from DVD Architect and it had no sound. The VOB's played fine if I changed the file extension to mpg, but windvd wouldn't play any audio if I left it *.VOB.

I tried making another *.AC3 file from a different .avi and again I couldn't play it on my computer.....I also have a different .avi that the source audio is .AC3 and it plays fine, s0 I don't think it is a codec problem.....my pioneer standalone dvd wouldn't play any audio either.

I am so close to being there I just need a little "push up the hill"

    Thanks all for your input.....

    Peace

Have you tried converting your .avi to a regular MPEG-2 video file in tmpgenc, then importing that into tmpgenc author? It may be that the .ac3 streams you are using aren't being recognized, or aren't created to the full Dolby spec.

  3. I did take my avi and convert to MPEG-2 with TMPGEnc first and then import that into TMPGEnc DVD Author. I'll try to import a file with no audio to see if that may be the problem. Is there another program that makes AC3 files that I could try??

  4. use FFMpeg GUI to convert to AC3.

Also make sure you have AC3 Filter installed on your PC. You should be able to play AC3 files fine then.
