Splitting DVD into two discs

I am trying to backup Family Guy Season 2, disc 1 and Nero Recode 2 will not do it. I think the disk is just a bit too big to split, so I was thinking about making two copies of the dvd and splitting the episodes between the two. There is a two part menu on the disc where the episodes are already split up, so I got the idea of making epidose page one only pop up for disc one, and the same for disc two. What is the best tool for this? Is it hard to force a disc to go to a second menu? I want the disc structure to be identical apart from this.

elby's clonedvd is pretty usefull for this.
you can eliminate the second half of episodes for the first disk and then eliminate the first half for the second disk. You'll have your menu structure intact on both disks.
