I was playing around with my Panasonic E80. And in my other DVD player I have a back up copy of "Mr. Deeds" that was ripper and transcoded with IC7 and put on DVD-R. I was test my recording speed's SP and LP. Well this back up has no copy protection. I know I ripper and transcode it with IC7. Well I hit record just before the "FBI" logo came on it was recording but when the "FBI" showed up my recorder said you can not copy this signal. But when I played the movie I was able to record. I want all DVD recorder's to do this test with a movie. do the test with a full back up DVD menu's and all.
I think Panasonic has in memory the FBI logo in the machine and when it see's it it stop recording.
