i have some video clips i'm trying to watch on tv. i've converted them to mpeg1 &mpeg2 with tmpg to make vcd's and dvd's.
the problem is when i play them on dvd player (vcd or dvd), the audio is really low and i have to turn tv volume to almost maximum to hear but also makes the audio sound muddy.
playing clips on computer sound fine. i tried connecting computer to tv (soundcard mini stereo out to tv rca in), and i get the same audio problems (low volume and muddy).
what am i doing wrong? or is there a step i need to be doing to prepare audio for tv playback?

In Settings change the volume to 150-200% then encode:

another possibility is your TV speaker is blown.

I had the same problem. My sound card just doesn't have enough juice to power my TV's speakers. What I did was run the soundcard output into an external amplifier, which is nothing more than an old boom box with line input. Works great now.Originally Posted by draggoon01
