dvd shrink encounted an error and cannot continue
    Failed to read file "E:\"

When i try to play it on my pc nec1300a i get an error there just trying to play it the error is.

Is there some kind of new protection on this disk or anybody else had this problem before, any advice would be appreaciated. Thanks

I have had this problem and found if you rip it at a slower speed it usually works fine, providing the scratch or blemish is not too bad.

That sounds like a damaged disc to me. I have a CD that doesn't have many visible scratches on it but it still gives this error.

Burn again, you may have better luck. Also, what media are you using?

  4. Thanks for the replys
About my media i was going to use princo but that doesent really matter as i don't get to put it in as it fails during the analysing or encoading faze
i did intend to burn at 2x as with the nec1300a and princo disks i have to
    or it will fail.
The disk i want to backup is a new one
I am really stumped with the video uotput error.
    anyway thanks again.
    Much appreaciated

You're wrong - it's a data input error. What media you're using to write to, or what write speed you're using, or what burner you've got doesn't matter, as the error comes from reading the source disc.

  6. Try an earlier version of DVD Shrink or use DVD decrypter. Earlier versions of DVD shrink seem to have this problem less often.

There's something weird going on here. I've read a number of posts where people have said .... worked Ok until today, and now I get Data Error ....

I also have had no problems but am now getting .... Data Error Cyclic redundancy check VIDEO TS / whatever ....

I haven't changed burner, software or media.

I'll try slower ripping ( if I can set it ) and see what happens.

The DVD's play OK but I can't make a backup copy.
