    i have a film which i need to convert the format so i can burn it to dvd.

    Mpeg2 480x576 @ 25 fps (4:3)PAL 2520 kps

    i need a tools to convert it. I get an error saying about illegal GOP size if i try to do anything with it.

    Some dvd players will play that resolution in a DVD, maybe you dont need to reencode. Just reencode the audio to 48000hz. If not, frameserve the video with dvd2avi first and open the .d2v file in an encoder to convert.
