Hi all,
I own a Panasonic E80-H and I've been it using alot to transfer my VHS home movies into dvd-r's.
I transfer the whole tape into the hard drive, do all the editing necessary and divide it into chapters. When I copy it into the dvd-r (after it is finalized), I noticed that it freezes for a couple of seconds between chapters. My question is, does anyone know how to prevent this, and if yes, could you please tell me how?
I think when I first got it and tested it for the first time, it didn't do that, but I mighty have made a few changes to the unit and maybe that's what's causing it.
Thanks to all,

Because what your doing is creating titles, rather than chapters. All you need to do to create chapter stops is press the MARKER button on the remote while playing back the movie (not while in any editing screen, either divide program or shorten segment) Nothing will appear on the TV screen, but the word MARKER will appear on the front display of the E80 for a few seconds. You can even press MARKER while fast fowarding if you don't care about the exact location of the mark. Once you get all the markers where you want them, high speed dub to a DVD-R, and the markers will become chapters on the finalized DVD.

I just want to emphasize the fact that you have to do the transfer in high speed mode for the marker process above. These will in fact be the only chapters on the disc (none of the default ones every 5 minutes).
If you are trying to get a separate title on the menu by using the divide function, your best bet (besides editing on a computer) is probably to record the original VHS to the harddrive and stop right after where you want the break ("divide" point), and then rewind to a little before the break point and begin recording again (repeat for every break point). You can then edit out the extra frames, and the "chapters" are already separate titles on the menu because you stopped the recording. They should play more or less seamlessly between chapters/titles (better than the divide function for sure). Granted, this will require waiting around while the VHS is dubbed to the harddrive.
