I know this is probably improper as the thread is locked, but I felt compelled to respond...

The pictures of Iraqi children maimed is truly heart wrenching. It is tragic that innocent children and adults must suffer as a result of war.

However ...

* Where are the pictures of maimed and killed occupants of the WTC on 9/11?

* Pictures of innocent people killed and/or maimed as a result of the Madrid Spain train bombings?

* Night Club bombings?

* What about the pictures of the atrosities put forward by Sadam Hussein upon his own people? The mass graves? The Torture chambers? Public Hangings? Gasings of whole villages?

What about the collateral deaths and injuries brought about by "check point" bombings?

Where are those links??

Some casulaties are "collateral" which is a very "sterile" word, but basically describes a non-intentional casualty or death. Some are just caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Some are reults of Iraqi mines which innocent children wonder upon. And some are caused by unexploded munitions from both sides..

War is bad. But war is sometimes necessary. It is never pretty and never fair to everyone involved. There is a price to war. There are casualties on both sides. The only thing that could possibly mitigate this is that the end-result leaves the majority with better lives than they had before the war. I know that is of no consulation to those injured or killed and there families. and my heart truly goes out to them.

Rina, your pictures are sad. But they are also one-sided. In war there is usually a victor, but in reality no one truly wins. There is a cost on both sides. There are tragedies on both sides.
