now i know some people are gonna hate me for this.. cuz we did something with forty-two very similiar (but think of the impact 42 had and think just the same) ... a very early announcement for a "solution" to dvd - > svcd, vcd, dvd sync issues with the ease of use we've come to know and love as mac users, this program comming to be known as 42..for this new program i have no specific screenshots or anything yet b/c it will be some time before this gem hits of the market.. but it will solve endless issues in a very easy to use layout [ think 42 ] (ie avi to dvd/vcd/svcd, svcd to vcd.. svcd to dvd.. PAL->NTSC, NTSC->PAL so on..) now if i sound like im full of it... there are a few lucky people on the forums that have hinted towards it or have run very early alpha test versions that can vouch for how crucial this will be to the growth of the mac video scene on a whole... any info between now and release is going to be very vague, but i thought i would give some hope to know there is something very great to come...

okay maybe ill drop a little more info i know i was pretty vague in the above post (for a reason though)... i just ran the latest beta i compiled and it has re-encoded 4 divx invader zim eps in about an hour or so to dvd ready mpeg-2. (yes it is a queue) (dp 800 with 768 of ram)

Part of the backlash 42 received upon release was the vague promises made in the pre-release hype that didnt deliver upon inspection by the masses.
No matter how well you build the mousetrap, and how many instructions you provide with it, someone will always complain bitterly when the mouse simply avoids the mousetrap, thus failing to yield the desired results. -
didnt deliver??? are you joking???? name ONE other program that has had the success rate of 42 prior to or post its release with dvd->svcd/vcd conversion.. name just ONE please im dying to hear this.. hell give me one program that has had even 1/100th of the successs rate of straight dvd->svcd/vcd conversion. i could care less if not everyone can use it... i know not everyone will be able to figure it out or maybe they will find a file that gives the program problems, and to be honest i could care less, its the complainers and the people that bitch that not every last thing THEEY want is in a program that ruin any scene whether it be programming or not, you cant please everyone and some people dont give credit to the hard work a hand ful put in (even if they are programmers themselves oftentimes someone steals anothers idea and slops together a crap program, i wont name any names, and yet gives no credit where it is due, hence the reason to be vague) i dont offer an end all solution for everything ever, to due so would be asinine, and if someone wants to turn on what i do because i make an early vague annoucenment it is clearly their loss and i could care less about those people, they are the worthless slags on the scene that just leech information and offer nothing back for its advance and bitch whenever it doesnt go their way.

zim episodes are about 12 minutes.... dv/mov re-encoding will be added later but it will only encode to mpeg... i have more issues i need to tackle b4 it hits public beta, plus i want to re-code it in obj-c (gotta learn obj-c along the way so that may stymie it a bit)

I was fortunate enough to be one of the early testers for this, and I must say, this is gonna be BIG! This is going to be the answer to soooo many questions on this forum, I just look forward to the day when I can just point people to Bile's solution, rather than try to make them use current tools in twenty steps with crappy results, what this tool will do in a few steps with perfect results. The queueing features are just the icing on the cake. This is like Compressor For the Rest of Us™.

to be honest that is why i said people are going to hate me for this post anyways.. i prefaced it with that..... its going to be quite some time before i can get a version together that i think is worthy of public release...
right now its in my typical form of coding and i want to re-design in obj-c so it will take some time, i was just trying to give some people (those that dont overreact over the most retarded things) a glimmer of hope for the processes they have been let down by time and time again by other alternatives. Plus i gotta finish out this semester of school in which im far behind before i can put in any serious re-coding work...As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
