  1. I have done a backup of one of my movies(used dvdshrink and cut out extras and left main movie only)but towards the end the picture skips and then says cant read disc if playing on my dvd player but it is ok on my pc.Is there any reason for this I have notice the dye changing colour when i burn and it seems to go from the centre out.Is the disc less reliable at the edges?

it sounds like a media problem, bad media usually shows up at the outside edge of the disc. you can either try different media, or compress your dvd more.

DVD is written from the inside out, and the outside spins faster (same rpm, higher velocity). Compress it to 4 GB or stop buying crappy disks. Check the DVD Media section <-<-<- for recommendations.

  5. The same happened to me with Aliens,I mean the movie aliens,ja ja.
I was making a copy on a Ritek disk DVD-R,then a friend told me to copy in a DVD+R and works perfect.
The problem that I had was like many squares in the middle of the screen, then freeze, then stop, this was in the last chpaters of the movie.
I copied many movies in DVD-R and they works just fine,I don't know why Aliens had that DVD-R problem.

I thought I gave a little more detail, didn't mean to step on any toes.
