  8. And you gain a stone
But you lose many pounds.. it should be a good thing as everyon I know says that Guinness in Ireland is better than the Guinness in London. Roll on ST Patricks (the patron Saint of Binge drinking)
88888 you have to acclimatise yourself to it.. start off by drinking something like 1/2pt of guinness with a bottle of Pils.. big head drink..
Or Guinness with Cider ...snake Bite
Or Guinness Top .. 7/8 guinness with 1/8th Lemonade
Or Guinness Snap 3/4 Guinness with 1/4 Champagne.

Same here, and sometimes it is mixed with vodka for some extra power.

Another interesting one is a power shandy, which is a Smirnoff Ice and lager (pint). Again, can be mixed with extra vodka.

Personally, I prefer lager or cider (sometimes), Guinness or best of all, and money permitting, a good single malt whisky.

Guinness and Newcastle are the only brews I drink normally. American macrobrews all taste like water, and the latest "low carb sports beer" craze makes me sick to my stomach. Have you ever tried Michelob Ultra

Try mixing Guinness with a Beligan white ale like Hoegaarden for a black and white. One of my favorite Guinness mixers. Hoegaarden by itself is pretty good too.

I second the single malt Scotch. I always have a bottle of 18 year Islay stowed away for a special occasion, but mostly drink Highland malts any other time I feel like a drink. I tried the Sherry-wood finished Glenmorangie the other day, pretty good but a really sweet nose on it. I prefer peaty bodies myself.

I'm just coming the last of my Glenmorangie, would you recommend that sherry wood finish ?

You may like Laphroig, that's probably the most peaty whisky there is. If you like the Highland malts, have you tried Highland Park? That's a really nice one. Both of those whiskies happen to be personal favourites, too.

One of the best whiskies, in my opinion, is Talisker. It's a very distinctive whisky from Skye. Definitely worth a try.

Also, has anyone tried J&B? That's Justerini & Brooks; it's a blended whisky. Normally, blends aren't anywhere near as good as the singles, but in this case the whisky is outstanding, and is a better drink than some singles. If you've got £15 spare, do try it - you'll not be disappointed.

Any of u ever try a black & black? 1/2 cold Guiness on the bottom of the pint, then carefully pour hot coffee on the top 1/2. This will stay layered(from the temp. differences) until about 3/4 of the pint has been consumed. At this point u get an interesting mix of the 2. The last 1/4 remains primarily Guiness.

Just remember, this is coming from a Yank. This may be as offensive to some as putting ketchup on a filet that has been well done to boot

Never been to the UK,so I am unaware if any of u mates drink it like this

If I ever saw someone ruin a good pint of guiness doing that I would have to slap em

Saying that your Yank beers are awful, so droppin a coffee in em aint such a bad idea

Only if you like a really sweet nose on your Scotch. The body is pretty straight-forward. The biggest distinction would be its sweetness. The color of it really threw me, it's bright orange instead of gold. I'm looking to maybe try to portwood finished stuff next. I think they have one other wood finish too.

I've had Talisker over there, but never found a bottle in stores here. Same goes for Laphroig. I may have seen Highland Park but never tried it.

I don't do blended malt Scotch, that's what we have Jameson for. Actually the 12 year aged Jameson wasn't too bad for blended. I'm not really a fan of J&B.

I figured as much. We feel the same way across the pond when we see Miller lite being drank out something besides a plastic bottle.
