I have never used alcohol. I use Nero 6 Ultra Edition. I have never had a problem with it.

I use DVDShrink 3.17 I believe to make a DVD-9 smaller, and DVD Decrypter to burn. If its a normal DVD-5 I just use DVD decrypter to burn. Ive got no complaints, every disc I've made has played fine so far.

  4. Alcohol is great for copy protected CD media, never tried it for DVD though. It only burns images. If you want to burn a DVD image I'd use DVD Decryptor instead. Works perfectly and its free.

alcohol 120 is a great burning program. but like said it only burns already built images. it does copys too, alot of settings that others dont have. alcohol helped me out when nero was tweakin out and wouldnt copy some of my dvd's. i'd say nero is the best though. and alcohol will clean up the mess that nero cant handle.

I recommend Alcohol 120% for people with a PS2 equipped for backup games. Ive used it to backup discs I didn't think COULD be backed up (X-Port PS2 CD for one...) and it took a while but it read all sectors eventually. Its a good burning program to have but not quite what you want or need for movies.
