tjdmobile, this if mostly for you.

Anybody having jitter issues may want to read that. I've found a jitter error finally (not that I wanted one), and I've looked into it more. May fix it for you, maybe not.

  2. Thanks Lordsmurf, I actually looked there this morning. At this point, 1143 never does it to me, so I will just stay put with 1143 until a new FW is released.

I fixed the jitter by replacing the motherboard firmware with 1141.30

I used a CDRW and it "upgraded" the hacked-1163.

    Results:
    Lost the 3 hour mode.
Tested Macrovision and it was still OFF.
Video is much sharper, clearer and matches the brightness & contrast of my TV.

Opened the secret menu and turned OFF the Macrovision
    Made the machine region free.
    ----------------------------------

Since MV is in the drive's fw, I'll try to upgrade to 1143-mobo-fw.

I wish there was a way to enable 3-hour on 1141 and 1143.

I "updated" to the official 1163.ds1.
It is same as changing "AF" to "AE" (AF - 1 = AE) in
the hacked fw 1163.D11's at line 0xA7.

Result is the same as befor, ie lost of the 3 hour mode.
Seems enabling that mode causes the flicker.
