I have captured successfully with my Hauppauge DEC 2000, removed commercials and saved to mpg. As all TV programs here are broadcasted in 16:9 I have a problem when converting to .avi with VirtualDubMod as people look stretched, same when I convert to .wmv with Windows Movie Maker.
I have read on this forum and did a search but can't find anything about it (only 4:3 to 16:9 for DVD which isn't my problem).
Would be very grateful for tips which software I need to convert the files at the right aspect ratio or which settings I need. I don't mind reading through tutorials either.
Thank you.

is easily fixed using avi synth
then recoding to xvid
pretty much identical to the way in which i rip dvds
may need to play to see which mp3 encoder is best as dvd2avi output sound file says it has a 512ms delay
this may be a problem caused by me hitting a wrong button im sure it will be easily fixed -
there is a guide a made on it here
