Can imovie record more than 9mins ..??
I wantt o record some footage i took and its 45mins long , how can i get imovie to record 1 file instead of breaking it into 2 or more video clips

It splits up the DV clips into 9 min 28 sec sections to keep them under a certain filesize for compatibility reasons. Once you've captured your material, you can combine them all on the timeline, edit as necessary, and then export to whatever format you want, and it will make a single file. If you want to export to a DV file without losing any quality, get what you want on the timeline, choose 'Export' in the 'File' menu (command-shift-e). Then select 'To QuickTime' in the first popup menu, and choose 'Expert Settings...' in the second one. In the next window that pops up, choose 'Movie, self-contained' in the 'Export' popup menu, and hit save. This will prevent the loss of quality when you choose other export options (including the badly-named 'Full Quality DV' export option).
