  1. I have startrek motion picture and the subs are actually on the DVD and you can not remove them with the Subtitle button. I want to blank them out throughout the entire movie and as they appear in the black boarders how can I just put a black rectangle over them?

Try being nice. You'll get more people who will be willing to help. You don't have to get defensive and be a total STROKE about it. I was just trying to help you out.

Erm... I'm not 100% sure what he actually meant up there, but I read that as PAL instead of NTSC.

Neminat0R, if that's a factory DVD then those subs should be switchable. Do you have any other movies that have the same problem? Have you tried playing it in another player?

    Neminat0R,

If you meant to say PAL not NTSC then I apologize.
If it's a factory DVD, you should be able to remove subtitles with a program like DVDShrink.

  7. Naw didnt mean anything... wasnt even hinting at anything? edit: LOL I get it now you thought I was saying "PAL" as in "whats you problem PAL!", I meant PAL as apposed to NTSC.

Anyway, the subs are actually on the movie, as much as when you see "Starbase 134 - Delta System" - for example, when a movie takes you to a location in a movie.

That "Starbase 134 - Delta System" is not subtitles and not switchoffable, its just part of the movie. In the same way these subs are part of the movie, so im wondering if there is a way to blank these subs over.

And the subs are there for the entire movie? That's bizarre. I've seen that on pirated discs, but never on a factory original. If the subs are really there in the original video then your only solution would be to use something like Avisynth or Vegas Video to re-render the video with something obscuring the subs. You'll lose a large part of the picture though, so I can't see that as being helpful. Your choice, I suppose.
