I don't have a DVD-Rom, so I am capturing off my standalone DVD player. That's not a problem, I'm fine with that, got the whole capture process down pat, good to go.
The problem is that my standalone DVD player is region-free, and the DVDs I'm capturing from are in PAL format. This means when capturing in NTSC 480x480 for SVCD and converting, I have black bars on top and bottom, almost like letterbox. The top one isn't an issue--that disappears when played on the TV screen, but the bottom one is large and doesn't disappear entirely, so I have a bit of a black bar at the bottom of the screen.
Does anyone know how to compensate for this?
