I can't speak about the ability to go back and forth although others have said they can. As to the 1.13 firmware and any issues; it is too new to have any complete info. Good luck and be careful.

ADDED: Looks like the 1.13 firmware blocks reversion to any older firmware. Maybe Flash will hack the new one.

im using the hacked version of 1.10.

i used to be running the 1.05 hacked which burnt ritek go3 media (rated 2x) at 6x) and also burnt ritek go4 media (rated 4x) and 8x!

i recently upgraded to 1.10 and since then have had no probs with GO4, but GO3 media wont burn at 6x! i just get an error before it starts! i wont bother reverting back to 1.05 because i will wait until hacked version of 1.13 comes out!!!

so, dont be afraid of upgrading, unless u upgrade to 1.13 you can always revert back to official firmware if you have n e probs!

Mates got a 107 in an external firewire case. Can he update the firmware with this connection?

Considering what hacked firmware did to 105s, I wouldn't use it.
