Hello! I have Pioneer DV-444 and I noticed that it does not support selectable SVCD subtitles. Is it somehow possible to rip DVD to SVCD and have one subtitle encoded with the movie? I mean that the subtitle is "hardcoded" in the video stream, and you can't switch it on/off? Thanks for help!

I have exactly the same problem.
Just bought the Pioneer DV 444, but afterwards I found out it didn't support selectable SVCD subtitles.
A friend have a lot of SVCD's, I would like to have a copy of.
Is it possible to convert them and have the subtitle 'hardcoded' in the video stream?
