Apex AD5131 Squeak Sounds?

I'm a first time buyer of a dvd-player and opted for the Apex AD5131. Everything is fine except when playing cds I always hear this small squeaking sound when it accesses the cd. So, throughout the film I continuously hear this sqeaking and it gets annoying...

Was wondering if this is just normal and I'll just need to but it in a closed shelf or something..or if it is defective?

You should only hear perhaps a whirring spinning noise for the player as it reads a disc.

Squeaking sounds wrong...
