  1. How do I write ontoo this? Do I need to use Nero or something or do I need to format it first. Because at the moment I have put it in my dvd drive and it is not recognising it. My dvd drive is compaterble though - it has the little logo of "RW Dvd+Rewritable"
    Help?

  2. You need to use Nero (or packet writing software like InCD which comes with Nero) or some other burning application to use dvd-+rw, you can't use it like you would use e.g. a zipdrive. I should warn you there seems to be quite a bit of issues with dvd packet writing.

  3. DVD+RW can be used in one of two ways: session writing and packet writing.

For packet writing, you need Nero InCD, B's Clip, Roxio DirectCD, and the like. The disc will have to be formatted by the program, but once this is done and the program's driver is loaded, you can use the disc much like a floppy disc.

For session writing, just throw the disc in and record like you normally would on a DVD or CD.

Can't comment on issues with DVD packet writing. I use B's Clip and don't have anything negative to report. The history of packet writing is such that you should never use it as a backup source, though. It's not the most stable format.
