if I was to re-authoring a DVD. can i select two audios?? mainly DTS & ac3?? Without any menu how would i be able to select which audio I want to play?? reason why I want both is because, well currently my home theatre system can play DTS automatic. but sometimes I know I want to lend the dvd to friends, or even play it in my laptop... and they might not have DTS decode available.

if u look on ur dvd remote there's most likely a button that says "audio", that'll change audio tracks...
hope this helps, josh -
if u need to pick one of the audio formats to fit it on a dvdr, then i say choose dts and to hell with ur friends. dts is always better, that's if u have a decent speaker setup. if not then ac3 will do. or u could burn copies for ur friends with ac3.

Actually, I usually pick the AC3 channel because: 1. It's 1/2 the size of the DTS track usually, thus, giving you around 300-400MB more disc room for keeping the movie bitrate high, 2. As stated before, alot of people just don't have a reciever or DVD player that has DTS decoding anyways, so if you do let your freinds borrow your copy or whatever, they won't be able to listen to anything, so it's just more convienent. So far, the only movie that I've found to be able to keep both AC3 and DTS sound channels, while having almost no video compression is The Fast and The Furious.

yea.. well the only person I see lending the DVD to is my brother.. and his home theatre system kick my system's ass. hahaha! so ripping them as DTS isnt a problem... the only person I see will be not useful with DTS is my gf, since she doesnt even have a reciever. Good thing not all movies come with DTS... and one thing I have noticed that only a certain movie sounds totally AWESOME. Like LOTR extented version & the Gladiator. thanks for the input friends.
