I am having problems burning movies with my Pioneer DVD-RW DVR -106D. When I burn a movie it appears to work just fine and seems to play great on any of my DVD players. However when the movie gets near the end it starts to lock up/freeze/go pixilated and eventually stops altogether. I am using Bulkpaq orange media and have tried this using DVD Decryptor, DVD2one with Neor 6 and I have also tried DVD Shrink 3.1 If have tried playing the copys on various different players on some it works fine others it hangs but this does not mean it always works on certain units. If I try playing back the copy on the Pioneer DVD-RW DVR -106D it always plays fine. I have had the unit replaced and the new one does the same, I have noticed that if the movie is about 3.5Gb long it seems to be ok on all DVD players I have. If I try to play some of these on my DVD ROM on my PC it comes up with the disk is damaged but again it plays fine on the burner. I have checked that my DVD ROM and burner are on seperate IDE busses and I have also noticed that if I play the files from the hard drive after ripping they play fine, so I am convinced that it is a burning problem rather than a ripping or compression problem.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I am using Bulkpaq orange media
Have you tried other media I don't think those are very good. Try a different brand before you start to think there is something wrong with your method. -

I just tried some other media Memorex DVD+R 4x and real cheap DVD+RW from one (www.o1ne.co.uk) and low and behold they seem to have worked on a movie I just could not seem to burn on the Bulkpaq Orange so maybe the media is the answer, thabnks for the advice.
I bought the Bulkpaq Orange from www.ebuyer.com where they seem to get a great write up so I thought they would be a safe bet, just goes to show you.
Does anyone have a recommended bomb proof 4x disc, at a reasonable price that they would recommend as an alternative?
Cheers

Anything with the Ritek G04 dye from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk. As long as you class under £15 for 25 reasonable. I use Datasafe and haven't had a duff one in over 100.

That's it , it is just about finding a brand that works for you.
There are people who say that Taijo Yuden are the only ones to recommend , but they are just too expensive for me anyway.
I have had good results with Yellow Datasafe , White Label and Ritek G04 on my 106D.
I would suggest buying in 25 spindles not 100 as you can return unopened packs at most places wheras they probably wouldn't take back an opened pack.
