I've been trying to make a purchase at newegg.com but they use the new Verified By Visa system and its giving me problems. I can't get to the verification part either through newegg or through the verifiedbyvisa.com website. I keep getting a "this page cannot be displayed" message. It works fine on another computer I've tried so I believe the problem is with my configuration. I'm running Spybot and Zone Alarm free version. I'm thinking the problem may be in how Spybot sets up the Active X controls but I'm not certain. I've completely unistalled Spybot and the Verified by Visa site just sets there and clicks constantly like something is trying to load and something won't let it. This is driving me insane. Think I'll ditch Visa altogether if this keeps up. its pointless if there new security feature forces me to drop other security features in order to use it. If anyone else has had this problem and can help please lend a hand.

Maybe try contacting Visa to see if anyone else has had the problem and if so, any solution to it.

I've done that and they said they'd try to help but I'm not holding my breath. I was just wondering if anyone else may have had the problem and found a fix.

I just did an order on NewEgg a week ago with a VISA and saw that option as another card option like Mastercard and the like. There was regular VISA and Verified by VISA. I think the latter is an option that is on some of the newer cards. Can't you just select a regular VISA or uncheck the Verified thing and order?

no such option I'm afraid. Its just VISA now. maybe they had both options while trying out the VBV system, but its run through it automatically now.
