    ??

I dont know what you are getting at here. Do you mean pressed, commerical DVD's, DVD-Roms, DVD+-R/RW??

The question, as framed, cannot be answered.

  4. If it's DVD-R then there will most likely NOT be any region coding.

It will most likely be NTSC, however - if you're set up for PAL only, then that's a different matter.

That is bull. NTSC and PAL is a property of the video format. By themselves the discs dont have either a region code or video format.

They will act the way you record on them. You can burn them with no region or specify the region you want (if you know how to do it).

When talking about data, the whole discussion of region codes is moot.

Are you having a problem playing back the disc or something because if it is on a DVD-R it is most likely region free , also most players will happily playback PAL and NTSC discs.

DVDdecyrpter will tell you what region code and protection is being used and will remove all of these when you rip with it.

    Like I said DVDDecrypter

Top is an original disc , bottom is a backup
As you can see the bottom shows all regions.

  10. If your disks are blank DVD-Rs, they have neither region nor video format nor macrovision (copy protection) on them - all this is added at time of mastering the DVD...

For a Video DVD disc, you can follow andyp1's suggestion - this supposes of course that you have a DVD-Rom drive inside your PC.
