I'm new to DVD-making, but I trust my eyes. No matter which input I use-
composite, s-vhs, RF (from cable box) or I-link from a digital camera- the signal looks softer and less saturated than I'd like. The same live signal
direct to my Sony TV has sharpness, lots of color and "crunch". I expect
some signal loss upon playback- but is this a typical observation BEFORE
recording?
All the above issues are present on playback as well.
The 5005 does have a nice 2x-16x forward and reverse search & pause, but slo-mo is buried in a sub-menu AND does not include step frame. My other bugaboo is the input select which defaults to RF, rather than staying where I left it. I'm going to return it and raise my budget. I'm ready to do my homework here (thanks for the many manual links! )and I'm looking for any suggestions from discerning users.
