When authoring a DVD converted from divx, xvid, avi etc., I demux the audio track (ac3) which I insert later on my DVD, separate from the video, using TMPG DVD author.
The problem is that in some pictures, when the film is all black, the audio has some problems (hickups)
Does anyone know why?

does this happen on both your computer and standalone dvd player? or only on your standalone dvd player?

Well, now that you talk about that, I think it is only in my standalone DVD Player...
The audio im my PC seems fine.
