  1. I purchased a Philips 50 dvd+r 2.4 speed spindle at Office Depot. It was a buy one get one free offer. The disks on the first spindle burned without a problem. Halfway through the second spindle I noticed that the disks I had burned wouldn't play to the end, stopping between 75% and 85% of the way through. I restrict my burns to 4.2 GB on my Nec 1300a just to be safe. I saw that the disks were scratched and tried to repair them but they still wouldn't play. When I looked at the rest of the unburned disks on the spindle, they were all scratched in exactly the same way. They come prescratched!! There is a one inch square abrasion on the outer edge and striations on the outer half inch of grooves. Obviously a manufacturing and quality control problem, but I ended up paying $100 for the fifty disks that were OK. Anyone that has these disks should check them all before wasting your time and money trying to burn them.
