  1. Why is it that when I.....

    capture mpeg II @ 2200kbps 224k audio
and burn it to an svcd it looks 'ok' alittle blured but ok

yet if I record it the same way and run then encode w/ tmpg (with NO filters)

it looks alot sharper and clearer?

    whats the diffrence?

  3. avermedia (junk)
352x240 29.97fps using nerovision express or powervcr (yes I know those both suck!)

I mainly use its in built app that caps direct to mpeg 2
but it still looks better if run though tmpeg

    *confused*
as all tmpeg is doing is basicly resizing it?? is it not
and maybe slightly lowering the bitrate

The MPEG capture software sucks. No competition.

AverMedia is better I think than what some want to say ...

I have an AverTV Stereo PCI capture card and using the BTwincap drivers I am getting most excellent results.

I use TheFlyDS to capture using PICVideo MJPEG on the 19 quality setting then convert to MPEG-2 using AviSynth and CINEMA CRAFT ENCODER.

Getting very good quality with such a set-up.

The key though was the BTwincap drivers. The AverMedia drivers sucked donkey balls.
