Lets say that I have a Canopus ADVC-100 connected to my TiVO, and the output goes to the Firewire port of my PC.
Lets further say that I have a remote desktop program that will let me control things, say DVApp, over the web so I could conceivably take a break at work every so often, and start up a recording on my home machine that is connected to the Canopus.
In that situation, is there anyway to control a Tivo Series 2 over the web to play a particular show - not to let me watch the show over the web, but to allow the capture program to catch the show so I can do recordings when no one is home and I don't have to worry about the kids deciding to change the channel in the middle of a recording?
This looks like something that could have been part of the Media Option, but isn't. I'd prefer not to have to open up my TiVO (lifetime subscription), but will do so if there's a compelling solution.
Figured that since this deals with computers and remote desktops it was more appropriate to ask in this forum.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Ewan
