Just something I figured out last night, sorry if mentioned already, I'm too lazy to search for it (and don't know what I'd search for to find it)...

When backing up Event Horizon, the movie would fit with 'no compression', however, the menus and trailer had to be compressed. My computer is slow, and deep analysis takes 1.5-2 hours. With 'no compression' selected it was going to run deep analysis on the movie too, so I re-authored the disc with only the menus and trailers, and changed the preferences of the dvd-r size to 100mbs - slightly lower than the trailer + menu size of about 102mbs (it wouldn't run deep analysis without changeing the disc size to smaller than the total size of files). DVD shrink did the deep analysis on only the menu and trailer for the re-authored disc. When it started encoding I cancelled it. Then when I went back to 'full disc' with movie uncompressed, and trailer/menu compressed, it did not have to run deep analysis on the movie. Took about 5mins all up, saved at least 1.5 hours.
NOTE: the disc size in the end was about 5 mbs larger than what I have it set to in dvdshrink, but still fit on a dvdr no problems, so I assume doing this with larger files may produce a larger difference. One way around this could be to set the dvdr size slightly smaller I suppose.

Hope this helps someone out there.

If anyone knows an easier way, or can add info, please tell me (or even a better/simpler way to explain, sorry) - I'm certainly no expert with this program - cheers.
